Senior Desktop Windows and Server Administrator

Cleared are currently working with the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies.

AIATSIS are looking for an experienced (senior) Desktop and Server Administrator (Windows Administrator) with a primary focus on Intune Windows 10 and 11 desktop configuration, maintenance, and third-level support.

We have commenced our Workforce Modernisation program which in alignment with our corporate laptop renewal includes delivery of a new SOE, adoption of Microsoft Intune and Autopilot, refinement / clean-up of Active Directory and Azure Active Directory, VPN rationalisation amongst other things.

Prior experience in Intune, Entra ID (Azure) and SOE Development is desirable but not essential. In this role you will be working under the direction of the Project lead, provided guidance and training in SOE development, Essential 8 operating system hardening, application packaging and configuration of Intune Policies. AIATSIS is looking for someone passionate about learning and willing to follow direction and work semi autonomously.

Please Note: This is a short-term contract of 3-6 months whilst we transition this role into an APS position. The occupant of the contracted role can apply for the APS position when it is advertised.

Essential criteria

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a customer-centric approach. Strong Desire to Learn and ability work under instruction & autonomously.
• Experience with administration of Office365 and Intune. Understanding of Basic Networking Protocols and Concepts.
• Proficiency troubleshooting Windows 10/11 Operating System issues and Desktop Support and L3 Escalation Support
• Operating System Hardening and Understanding of the Essential 8, Maturity Level Model and ISM.

Desirable criteria

• Experience working in a Federal Government environment would be beneficial.
• Intune Application Packaging -Configuration, Patching and Maintenance of Endpoints and Servers. -Configuring, Testing and Implementing Intune Policies (Conditional Access, Configuration & Compliance) -PowerShell Scripting -Management of Hybrid Active Directory and Exchange
