Cleared is working with a Statutory Agency in the Defence Department, seeking to onboard up to 18 technical professionals for a project based in Adelaide.

Candidates must possess either an NV1 or NV2 clearance and be open to undergoing the TSPV process.

The project, slated to commence in July 2024, entails a major ICT Capability Development initiative, offering a 12-month contract with a 24-month extension possibility.

We are currently seeking a VMware Engineer who will undertake the following responsibilities:

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Investigates enterprise data requirements where there is some complexity and ambiguity.
  • VMware Engineer Develop and operate a VMware virtualisation platform using VCF.
  • Develop and operate hardware and software for VCF.
  • Design, test, and deploy new versions of VMware software.
  • Implement regular checks to confirm system status, including hardware and software.
  • Provide guidance to other technical team members on developing and operating virtual machines in VCF.
  • Develop and operate a backup and recovery service for VCF.
  • Manage performance of the virtual infrastructure and implement improvements to maintain required performance levels.
  • Provide automation through VMware services.
  • Design, test and deploy new versions of the Windows operating system, build and maintain system images and provide integration for VMware.
  • Integrate and support management and security software and configurations.
  • Provide server automation.
  • Integrate with MFA solutions.
  • Implement regular checks to confirm system status, including hardware and software.
  • Develop and operate a backup and recovery service for virtualised Windows systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Windows issues.
  • Manage server migration when required.

  • Proficiency in building productive working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Demonstrated competencies in ICT project support.
  • Experience in procuring goods and services on behalf of the Australian government.

Other requirements

  • Candidates require a AGSVA Security Clearance NV1 OR NV2 to perform the role.
  • Candidates must be willing to undergo ASD's Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to engagement.
