Security Consultant

Defence are looking for Security Consultants who have experience with Australian Government Security Assessment and Authority to Operate processes defined in the PSPF and ISM. The work is auditing and risk assessing complex research systems against the technical security controls in the ISM, and providing detailed reports to the authorising officer. Qualified IRAP assessors are a good fit, but candidates who have good technical skills and experience with auditing and preparing security documents (SOA/SSP/SRMP) for Commonwealth government or Defence systems are also suitable.

Experience:

• Strong technical skills around a range of cyber security and operational technologies and practices
• Knowledge the Australian Government Security Assessment process, the PSPF, ISM and Defence policies such as the DSPF
• Good written skills and the ability to liaise with and interview organisational teams and staff about technical specifications
• Auditing experience: Task will be to scope and validate ISM controls against complex information systems and provide an accompanying report including a risk assessment and remediation recommendations.

The projects are exotic and bespoke and use cutting edge technologies. There is quite a lot of onsite required, which can be done out of Adelaide or Melbourne. Turnaround times for the assessments are short, but the project teams are on hand to provide information and to arrange inspections of the systems in scope.
