Cleared ICT have partnered with a Cyber and AI/ML company that are currently expanding and looking for a Software Architect in Adelaide.

The Software Architect verifies that the foundational structure accommodates functional and non-functional needs while ensuring they synchronise with the organisation's technical strategy and vision.

o qualify for this position, candidates must hold Australian citizenship.

As a Software Architect, your main duties encompass:

  • Taking charge and guiding the implementation of technical solutions to fulfill client requirements.
  • Planning and facilitating workshops alongside technical teams to comprehend business challenges and devise solutions.
  • Collaborating with clients, external entities, and internal engineering divisions to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Producing detailed technical and functional documentation delineating solution scope and design.
  • Engaging in design and code reviews, offering constructive criticism to ensure quality and adherence to best practices.
  • Identifying and eliminating technical obstacles throughout the organization to streamline project execution.
  • Offering insights into coding and design best practices.
  • Leading and propelling internal initiatives aimed at enhancing technical methodologies, thereby contributing to the refinement of our engineering practices.
  • Ensuring engineering teams are equipped with requisite tools and software for efficient task execution.
  • Participating in the review and endorsement of architecture decisions made by engineering teams.


Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a technical architect or in a similar role.
  • Proficient in software engineering with extensive experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and deliver comprehensive software solutions.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in guiding the implementation of technical solutions.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and capability to overcome technical hurdles for engineering teams.
  • Thorough understanding of coding and design best practices.
  • Proven track record in planning and leading workshops.
  • Expertise in generating comprehensive technical and functional documentation.
  • Familiarity with engineering tools and software.


Desirable Knowledge and Skills:

  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies such as Scrum, SAFe, etc.
  • Broad understanding of technologies within the developer ecosystem, including IDEs, developer frameworks, and various language stacks.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native technologies and solutions.
  • Understanding of continuous integration, continuous delivery, and deployment.
  • Familiarity with DevOps principles, practices, tools, and methods for securing DevOps processes (e.g., DevSecOps or Rugged DevOps).
  • Proficiency in automation tools, infrastructure-as-code, and configuration-as-code.
  • Knowledge of databases, containers, container orchestration, and container security.


Candidates must possess:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Successful applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
