User Experienced Researcher
A leading Software Engineering organisation in Canberra are looking for multiple User Experienced Researchers to support their Research and Design capability.
About the role:
This role involves working closely with a team of designers and researchers, as well as clients, to solve complex problems and create user-friendly, co-designed products and solutions. Creativity is at the core of complex problem-solving in the organisations team. The team are big advocates to enable User Experienced Researchers to be able to exercise their creativity throughout ideation, strategy and delivery, while working closely with the Development & Testing and Data & Analytics teams to make exciting, fit-for-purpose products.
What you'll be doing:
- Work closely with UX/UI Designers, product managers and IT development teams to craft the best outcomes for our customers
- Design and implement research strategies to support software, process and service design
- Communicate with key internal and external stakeholders
- Facilitate discovery workshops, in-depth interviews and other research work for major projects
- Curate research and create artefacts to inform clients clearly and effectively
- Compile reports and presentations from research insights to connect with customers and ensure the information is understood and actionable
- Be a mentor to junior researchers in our team
- Maintain a library of research insights and help determine UX research best practice operating procedures
- Champion human centred research and design for our broader organisation
- Utilise a wide range of UX research tools and strategies, with a focus on qualitative methods (although additional experience in quantitative methods is desirable).

- Exceptional communication skills - both written and verbal
- A degree or postgraduate qualification in UXR or a relevant social research field, with at least 2 years' experience in UX Research; or at least 4 years' experience in UX research
- The ability to step straight into a project and design and execute a research strategy for design
- Experience collaborating with product managers and developers and managing technical requirements
- Proven experience in research design and strategy, including end-to-end execution and large initiatives
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Confidence in facilitating workshops, and utilising various research methodologies as required
- An ability to identify actionable insights through research.
- Quickly and efficiently disseminate research results.
- Balancing stakeholder needs and domain regulations when ideating business solutions.
- Experience in the use of human-centred design in digital transformation would be advantageous
- Experience using collaborative online whiteboarding platforms such as Miro
