Cleared is collaborating with a leading global Defence company and is seeking a System Administrator with at least an NV2 clearance for a 12-month Contract based in Brisbane!

The System Administrator will play a crucial role within the team in Brisbane, contributing to a Major Defence Program. This program represents a pinnacle in furnishing Australia with one of the most advanced airspace battle management capabilities worldwide. In this pivotal role, you will be an integral part of the client's Infrastructure team, supporting regional activities in Australia & the South Pacific, encompassing design, development, production, and testing.

The Opportunity:

As part of a project delivery team, you will be responsible for expanding and sustaining a multi-tenanted, geographically dispersed, high-assurance network. The focus will involve system administration across compute, storage, networking, firewalls, client delivery services, and infrastructure applications. Responsibilities also include problem resolution and technical support for system delivery, user administration, continuous monitoring of system performance to facilitate capacity planning, and backup and disaster recovery planning.

You will closely collaborate with the project Solution Architect and Cyber team, providing technical design reviews and subject matter expertise in key technology aspects of the design.

This role is based ONSITE in Brisbane, however some inter-state travel may be required to the client's other sites within Australia.

Essential Experience & Qualifications:

• We are seeking System Administrators specialising in either Microsoft Windows and/or Linux stacks.
• Proven background in implementing and administrating complex, security-focused high-assurance systems.
• Strong experience in building/administrating either Windows Server and/or Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
• Proficiency in Ansible scripting and automation for provisioning and configuring infrastructure, networks, and services.
• Solid storage administration and integration skills with hypervisors (Fibre Channel, Pure Storage, VMware).
• Sound knowledge of Identity Management, Multi-Factor Authentication (Active Directory, Federation Services, RSA).
• Expertise in designing and implementing application and desktop delivery services (Citrix XenApp, Virtual Delivery Agent (VDA) and Gateway).
• Experience with Cisco Unified Computing Services (UCS) servers and fabric interconnects.
• Systematic and logical problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated capability to produce clear and concise documentation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with an inclusive approach to teamwork, are highly valued.

Other Specific Criteria:

• Ability to undertake occasional ad-hoc tasks outside of core business hours.
• Possession of an Australian driver's license.

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience in the defence industry.
• Familiarity with the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) Information Security Manual (ISM).
