Requirments

ASD requires a Systems Administrator to support the management of Information Technology systems and needs of the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC). This will include the planning, development, installation, configuration, maintenance, support, and optimisation of systems. This position will also require DevOps knowledge and experience to perform systems programming tasks to support the maintenance, management, and upgrade of software and IT systems. This position will be embedded in a team within ACSC to enable their achievement of mission outcomes.

The successful candidate will be capable of working in a high-speed environment that requires an agile attitude with flexibility to tasking and be accountable for all outputs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work as a team member in the ACSC to manage bespoke ACSC systems under the direction of a team leader.
  • Identify and analyse system performance issues, configuration discrepancies, and opportunities for optimisation, and work collaboratively with all stakeholders to recommend and implement remediation actions.
  • Provide user support, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance of IT systems.
  • Anticipate, investigate, and resolve problems in systems and services.
  • Maintain security controls in adherence to organisational security policy, and implement new controls as required.
  • Maintain administrative processes and manage the access rights and privileges of ACSC systems.
  • Create and maintain system records and documentation.
  • Provide updates to users and team leadership on problems, system updates and modifications, and planned future changes.
  • Manage automated process and script and automate new processes.
  • Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, with an ability to identify and solve issues prior to an impact on operational productivity.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential

  • Three or more years' experience in architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions.
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure cloud knowledge and experience.
  • Scripting and coding knowledge and experience in Python to automate tasks.
  • Proven ability to work across Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Knowledge and experience in DevOps and DevSecOps practices.
  • Knowledge and experience in Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, and a proven ability to collaborate as a team member.
  • Bachelor's degree, or higher, in Computer Science or related field.

Desirable

  • Experience in Cyber Security Operations.
  • Positive Vetting (PV) clearance.
  • For candidates that hold an NV1 or higher clearance, a willingness to participate in a clearance upgrade
